Nicole Terry

Thank you from deep within our hearts for the support you have provided to Team Nicole! I cannot express how we feel in that you have provided a donation that will change people’s lives. For those of you who do not know Nicole’s story here is a quick summary. Our daughter Nicole started having seizures during her third year of college. Epilepsy does not run in our family and we had no idea how prevalent this disease was. In Virginia alone, there are over 80K people who have been diagnosed with Epilepsy. This changed Nicole’s and our lives immediately. She cannot drive and must be with someone at all times because she still does not have a cocktail of medications or device to control her seizure activity. Your donation not only helps Nicole but helps everyone in the same boat as Nicole so Thank You for helping those who need it most!

TEAM COURTNEY

Team bon secours

Total: $450 (UPDATED 10/11/2024)

Bon Secours

Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Catholic health care heritage is directly linked to women religious who, in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, began ministries dedicated to serving people who are poor, underserved and dying. It is in furthering their legacies that we embrace our calling to extend Jesus’ healing ministry through compassion and service. In the communities served by Bon Secours Mercy Health, we extend almost $2 million each day in care and programs to individuals and in support of entire communities.

o extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved is our mission. Supporting the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia’s (EFVA) goal of improving the well-being of the 85,000 Virginians with epilepsy is but one example of service to our community.

Please join us in donating to EFVA to provide the resources needed to help contribute to the health of those people and their families living with epilepsy.

TEAM MADDIE ROSE

TOTAL: $2,865 (UPDATED 10/9/2024)

IMG-2742.JPG

MADDIE ROSE

Team Maddie Rose was created in memory of Madison Rose Clodius who was lost to SUDEP on May 11, 2019, and in honor of her twin sister Ashton, who still lives with epilepsy. The twins were diagnosed with epilepsy in 2009 at age 11. With medication and lifestyle changes, Ashton and Maddie had gone through good stretches of time seizure free. Sadly, Maddie began having breakthrough seizures which we understand increased her risk of SUDEP. At the time of her death at age 22, she was a licensed massage therapist and engaged to be married. Our Maddie was a miracle worker on earth and now we are her hands and feet and voice. We will advocate, educate and donate to help further the mission of The Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia.

Team Todd

Total: $2,600 (UPDATED 10/20/24)

Todd Parker

Team Todd rides again! Please join Todd’s sis Lindy, family and friends for the Tour de Midnight as a cyclist, volunteer, cheerleader or donor from afar in raising awareness and funds for epilepsy and SUDEP research. It doesn’t seem possible that May 23 marks 17 years since we lost our wonderful Todd Parker to Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. Each year, approximately 1 in 1,000 people with epilepsy die from SUDEP. Risk for SUDEP increases to 1 in 150 people with poorly or uncontrolled seizures. The medical examiner who handled Todd’s case had never heard of SUDEP. The chief of the ambulance authority and the EMTs who rushed to Todd’s house had never heard of SUDEP. They all have now. Regardless, one in 150 or 1,000 is one person too many for anyone who has lost a loved one to SUDEP. Thank you for your generosity in helping those living with epilepsy and raising funds for SUDEP research in memory of Todd. We are forever grateful for your loving support over the years. Lindy, Wendy & Bill

TEAM ELIZABETH

Total: $11,375 (Updated 10/24/2024)

Elizabeth Dalton

Our daughter Elizabeth was diagnosed with Epilepsy when she was 12 years old. Despite outstanding care and a fierce determination to get this disease under control she lost her battle June 18, 2020. Elizabeth saw first hand the great work the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia does to gain awareness for Epilepsy and to provide support for the 86,000 Virginians living with this disease. Through her work with the Tour de Midnight Elizabeth was an advocate for supporting the EFVA and their mission. She often said the Tour de Midnight was the one day of the year where people 'got her' and understood what she was going through. Please help the EFVA continue their mission by making a donation. Thank you for your consideration.

TEAM JAX

TOTAL: $TBD (UPDATED TBD)

Team JAX Attacks Epilepsy

We started this team for our son Jaxon who has been battling epilepsy his entire life. For being only 8 years old he continues to make us proud. He will not allow epilepsy to control his life, nor will we! Whatever Jaxon puts his mind to, he slowly but surely succeeds. One of his main goals was to become student of the year and it took him two years, but he finally achieved this! He continues to excel in all sports he attempts, especially basketball and football. Unfortunately, he cannot be your typical 8-year-old and have playdates, sleepovers and ride his bike around with friends unless we are with him. Jaxon has been diagnosed with intractable generalized epilepsy. This has been a hard road for not only Jaxon but our entire family! Our main goal is to raise as much money as we can to help fund research to find a cure. We thank you for your donation as this will get us closer to helping kids and adults battling this nightmare.

TEAM FRANKLIN

TOTAL: $4,047 (10/23/24)

TEAM FRANKLIN

Jodi Franklin had her first Seizure March 14 2020 at 35 years old and went straight into status epilepticus and was isolated in the hospital due to COVID with her husband and two children at home. She was reunited with her family April 21 2020.  Awake, but with a loss of years of memories of herself, friends, and family as well as a lot of independence.  Time went on and seizures continued.  Jodi has the most amazing support system of family and friends yet still felt alone and struggled to navigate life with epilepsy.  Tour De Midnight 2023 was the first time Jodi openly met others with epilepsy and was the first time she felt understood without having to explain. Team Franklin seeks to help the EFVA be there to connect those with epilepsy, raise awareness, provide support emotionally, financially and help those with epilepsy be able to live life to its fullest.  Thank you for your donation and/or participation to achieve these goals!
